San Francisco Bead and Design Show gathers the finest artists into an elegant location. To answer the growing market for handwork, this new show further expands Garan-Beadagio’s trademark theme of “bead and design”, showcasing a rare collection of styles —ethnographic, abstract, impressionistic, figurative— exhibiting single-media artisans to interdisciplinary artisans working across a collection of materials, handwork techniques, and visual art forms. The show comprises one hundred and fifty exhibitors, chosen “by invitation only”—and many with prominent international standing— who will display and sell original design products, including a full range of handcrafted contemporary, vintage, and antique beads, art clothing, designer jewelry, metalwork, lapidary, textiles, ceramics, handmade fabrics, designer findings, gold and silversmithing, enamel, handwovens, Shibori silk, hand-painted silks, embellishments, mustika-pearls, gemstones, polymer clay, antiquities, millinery, embroideries, wearable art, and interior décor. Some exhibitors reflect generations of families whose artistic skills are legendary. Other have spent upwards of forty years developing an handwork art, reviving lost techniques, and working with antique tools. Whatever your interest, trade, craft, art, tradition, or passion, whether it is glass beads, seed pearls, embroideries, hand painted silks, porcelains, painted shawls, gold ribbons, jade, polymer cane, batik, paper fans, Venetian beads, enamel inlay, kilims, Thai silver, plique-à-jour, or floral lace, this show will put you face-to-face with an assembly of exhibitors and products.
